Managing Director
Dr. Mrs. Gloria Ocran
Dr. Gloria Ocran leads the team of well qualified professionals with forty (40) years combined experience in the insurance industry at Shield Reinsurance Brokers LTD. She is a seasoned insurance and reinsurance practitioner with extensive experience in underwriting, risk management, marketing and strategic operations across the insurance value chain.
Gloria is both a Chartered Insurer and Chartered Banker with phenomenal analytical background and a vested interest in Service Marketing. She previously held the position of Group Executive Director, Finance and Administration at Shield Insurance Brokers and Risk Management Co. Ltd., Shield Microfinance Co. Ltd., Shield Haven, and Shield Lounge Hospitality. She was the Chief Executive Officer at Shield Microfinance Co. Ltd., from 2013 to 2019. She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration and a Masters in Applied Business Research from the Swiss Business School, Zurich, and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana and the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Ghana.

Gladys Lawson
Gladys Lawson is a results-oriented reinsurance professional with about a decade of extensive experience in the (re)insurance ecosystem across Africa. Distinguished by a strategic blend of technical expertise and business development acumen, she oversees the end-to-end operational framework of Shield Re.
Prior to her current role, Gladys spent over six years at KEK Reinsurance Brokers (Africa) Ltd as Team Lead, Facultative & Treaty. She combines deep technical expertise in treaty and facultative reinsurance with strong leadership capabilities — handling complex reinsurance structures, negotiating contracts, conducting risk assessment and portfolio performance analysis, retrocession administration, and seamless claims management. She has pursued specialised training from the London School of Insurance and Africa Re's Young Insurance Professionals Program.
Chief Financial Officer
Kelvin Akwetey Botchway
Kelvin Akwetey Botchway is a finance and audit professional with strong experience across financial services, auditing, taxation, and regulatory compliance in Ghana. He oversees the company's financial management framework at Shield Re, ensuring financial discipline, transparency, and strategic financial planning.
Prior to his current role, Kelvin served as CFO at Shield Insurance Brokers and Risk Management Co. Ltd., and as Group Internal Auditor for Shield Microfinance Co. Ltd. He conducted risk assessments on loan portfolios, reviewed internal controls, and ensured compliance with requirements from the Bank of Ghana and the National Insurance Commission. He is currently pursuing an MSc in Financial Risk Management at the University of Ghana.
